Hi there~ I've been meaning to try out a simpler art style for dress-up games, so of course Ruby was my go-to character. She's been my guinea pig for a lot of things ^^;

This took considerably shorter than a normal game, even though there's 4 outfits here (I designed the party dress, as I was inspired by the short scene showing a gala ball at Beacon in season 2). I'm thinking about opening these up for commissions as I have to open something up to save up for my next contest, and these don't take very long at all. I probably could have finished this last night, but it was rather late. I wish I could have added Crescent Rose but by the time I remembered there were too many items already to squeeze it in ;A;

Ruby Rose and RWBY (c) RoosterTeeth and montyoum

More games by me:
Akahana Dress-up Game by MikomiKisomiAlmyra Dress-up Game by MikomiKisomi
Kairina Dress-up Game! by MikomiKisomiAmelia Visual Novel by MikomiKisomi

Please only make critiques centered around giving me tips on how to improve these games USING THE STENCYL ENGINE!

'Critiques' such as "they overlap and can't be moved apart"* and "can you plzz make one of like snk or black butler???" do not help me.

*Yes I know they can't be taken apart once they overlap this is because I can't edit the hitbox of them, meaning the dragging area of each item is the actual area of the original picture. I've slimmed them all down to as far as I can get them but because I can't fix it more than that you can click the rose and refresh the scene.

"She's been my guinea pig for a lot of things" I love this haha

How long does it usually take you to do something like that?

The art is what takes the longest; it took me two days to draw and make this, mainly because it's such a simplistic art style.

Otherwise it would've taken you longer, right? Plus, if you wouldn't be used to drawing that particular character...

Well, this is the first time I've drawn a fullbody picture of Ruby, and the second time in total I've drawn her. She's not my character, so it still takes a bit cause of references pictures.

It doesn't really affect time that much, because even when I draw my own characters I have to look up references of their outfits from my old drawings cause it might have been a while since I drew it, or I need the right colors. Even when doing commissions it doesn't take too much longer, maybe 20 minutes at the most.

Oh, I see, so there's a lot of work anyway. But great job!

I love the line art, and OMG the red skirts are so detailed, awesome.
btw, can't you use auto-snapping option in stencyl?
what I mean auto-snap is for example when you drop a skirt around the hips the skirts will auto attach to the correct place
.
I am not a stencyl user so I don't know, what I know is, it can be done using actionscript3 and stencyl supports as3

Thank you~!

Well, Stencyl's language is called Haxe, which is a language that is a mixture of Java, as3, CSS, and more... So not only would the coding not properly translate right, but because that's not something the engine is meant for they is no documentation on making dress-up games with it; it's unheard of even. When I went to the forums no one had ever thought about making a game like that with Stencyl because it's so obsolete.

If there were just a button to press and enter in the coordinates it would be easier, or even if there was just a line of code for me to punch in every time... I hope you understand the dilemma ^^;
